The entire Robert family was deported from Prague in May 1942 on the Au-1 transport. After only two days spent in the so-called "šlojska" of the Terezín ghetto, they continued on the Ay transport. Its destination in occupied Poland remains unknown to this day. Of the thousand deportees, none survived.

It is assumed that the transport was murdered in the same or similar way as the Terezín transports Ax and Az, both of which were directed to the main railway station in Lublin, where the SS selected several people for forced labor at the Majdanek death camp. The other deportees probably passed through smaller ghettos and camps in the Lublin district, where they were gradually unloaded, or were sent directly to the Sobibór death camp.
