In the footsteps of the Jewish inhabitants of Ústí nad Labem

Javanese dancer

Josef Neuschul and his wife Jeanette had three sons: Ernest, Robert and Paul. Paul became a prominent chemist, Robert worked in the family business, and Ernest… Ernest became an avant-garde artist and painter.

With his first wife Lucie Lindenmann, they became Javanese dancers, changed their names: Lucie became the femme fatale Taka-Taka, Ernest took the name Yoga-Taro, and traveled the world with their exotic show.

Look at the photos of Taka-Taka and Yoga-Taro. Do you see anything Jewish in them?
