When Ignaz Petschek died in 1934, his funeral became not only an Ústí nad Labem event, but a pan-European event.
Look at the preserved photographs, capturing the coffin's journey through the cemetery and the miners' guard of honor. The miners knew that Petschek's respect for their work and health was certainly not common at that time.
Nothing remained of the magnificent tomb; at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s it was destroyed together with the entire cemetery.
