The two-story villa standing roughly on this spot was built for his family in 1928 by Otto Kraus, brother of Ernst Kraus, co-owner of the Adlerwerke Kraus company and the biscuit factory of the same name.
In September 1938, the family fled to their domicile town of Roudnice nad Labem, later relocating to Prague.
From the surviving documentation, it is clear that the authorities tried to convince Otto to hand over part of the family business located in Roudnice to an “Aryan”, a Czech refugee from the occupied border area.
