In the footsteps of the Jewish inhabitants of Ústí nad Labem

Butcher Houdek

The remains of the synagogue and the rabbi's house were purchased in 1940 by the butcher's company Houdek, which built a production factory and a butcher's training school there. This building was damaged during the Allied bombing of Ústí in April 1945.

The photographs below show both the building of the butcher's company Houdek (Regional Museum in Ústí nad Labem) and the aftermath of the bombing (Openeye archive).
