Perhaps the most active Zionist organization in pre-war Ústí nad Labem was the Techelet Lavan scout troop, or Blau Weiss. Blue and white are the colors of the Zionist flag, derived from the colors of the ancient prayer robe.
The Techelet Lavan scouts did everything that other scouts did, they had their clubhouse, apparently in the rabbi's house near the synagogue, where the municipal library was also located, they organized trips and summer camps. They and other Jewish youth also had their own cottage in Klínovec ski area at their disposal.

Jitka Radkovičová, who obtained these photographs from Matti, managed to record the following names associated with the Ústí Techelet Lavan: Jakov Wurzel, Kurt and Efraim Frank, Kurt Kohn, Peter, Poldi and Georg Laufer, Erwin Loebl and Mathias Kohn, Willy and Walter Kraus. The girls' section was led by Ida and Olga Jungmann, Ada Guttmann, Irma Kohn, and Sophie and Adele Popper.
