Anti-Jewish regulations affected citizens in all areas of life, from property ownership to the possibility of cultural or social life to access to information, education, medical care and food rations. Even before their deportation from their place of residence, persons identified as Jews were often moved in several families into one apartment, subject to work without pay, and not allowed to own musical instruments or pets.
