The Primeros legacy

In 1945, the Czech part of Primeros Company was nationalised on the basis of Beneš's decrees.

Ella Schwarzwald sought restitution, but the Czechoslovak authorities deemed her a German according to the Beneš decrees and kept the company and its trademark.

The Primeros brand still exists today. Under new ownership, it goes back to Gustav Schwarzwald's ideas about the need for health and openness to all shades of human sexuality.

"The most important invention of the twentieth century!"

The grand advertising text on the leaflet from the heyday of the original Primeros Company was printed in Czech on one side and in German on the other. Whatever language the customers spoke, everyone bought and used condoms.
