The Friš brothers

The owners of the house in Benediktská 2, brothers Josef and Viktor Friš, came from Těptín near Jílové.

Regina, Josef's wife, came from Nýřany, and she and her husband had two children, Alice and František.

Anna, Viktor's wife, had a wedding with him in 1920 at St. Jacob's church, before which he apparently converted to the Catholic faith. It is not clear what happened to Anna during the war.

Viktor, Josef, Regina and the two children were "relocated" from Benediktska 2 to the Terezín ghetto by transport Am on 24 April 1942. Then, in October 1944, first Josef and Regina and the children left on transport Eq, and two weeks later Viktor left on transport Ev.

František and Alice were selected for slave labour and lived to the end of the war. Their parents and uncle were murdered in the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.

How does the fact that you are standing in front of the house from which the Frisch family left for Terezín affect you?
