When Viktor Kohn, the founder of the Prague Zionist newspaper Medina Iwrit (Jewish State), married off his daughter in 1934, the wedding banquet could not take place anywhere other than the Café Aschermann lounge. One of only two known photographs of the interior shows that representatives of otherwise irreconcilable political movements, from the revisionist Betar to the intellectual Max Brod to sympathizers of the Czech-Jewish movement, came to celebrate the wedding of Ruth Kohn and Ludvík Kleinberg.
