The editorial office of the Jewish illustrated "non-political and family oriented" magazine Die Welt, which was published in Brno, Prague, Cheb, Vienna, Trieste and Tel Aviv by the famous Hugo Gold, was located at number 2 Benediktská Street.
Hugo Gold was the author and publisher of two historical compendia devoted to Jewish communities and monuments in Bohemia and Moravia. Most of the pictorial material available today on the history of Jewish communities in the Czech Republic comes from these two books.
