In June 1945, Ernst, Kamila, Robert and Markéta Mühlstein returned to Most. They were able to move into their apartment, now at 33 Stalinova Street, but the restitution of the stolen property dragged on until 1950. In June 1946, Josef Mühlstein also returned to his parents from Palestine. Since 1947, Věra, the widow of Hanuš, who did not live to see the end of the war, also lived in the same apartment with them.
In 1946 and 1947, Robert Mühlstein served as the district secretary of the Council of Jewish Communities in Czechoslovakia and was a member of the board of the Most synagogue congregation, which the Jewish community had changed to due to a decrease in membership.
