Ernst Mühlstein's company in Most, which he could not operate from Prague, was hit by excessively high taxes and fees - as a property of a fugitive Jew.
After the deportation of the owners and other members of the extended family to the Terezín ghetto, the farmyard in Okružní Street was sold to a racially compliant German, Josef Lewy (formerly called Levý and Czech), who continued to run the forwarding company and helped the German authorities transport, move, store and loot all Jewish and Czech property left in the city.

Robert, Markéta, Hanuš, Věra, Viktor, Anna and Jiří were taken from Terezín to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, the elderly Ernst and Kamila remained in Terezín and lived to see liberation. Their son Robert and his wife Markéta also survived.
