Traces of Jewish life in Dubrovnik

Hotel Wregg after the war and its memory today

At the beginning of 1943, all the Jews from the Wregg Hotel were transferred to the fascist camp Kampor on Rab. After that, the Wregg Hotel was abandoned and no longer functioned as a camp. During 1943, it was heavily damaged in bombings and was later demolished and never rebuilt. In fact, it was forgotten, except in the memories and testimonies of the Jews who lived there. Also, in the place where the hotel, that is, the camp, was located, there is no plaque, monument or anything that would provide information that there was a camp for Jews during the Second World War.
