Jewish Brno outside the city walls

The testimony of Beno Benari

The Brno railway station stands in front of the former city walls. The area in front of the station, where trams run today, used to be a Jewish cemetery in the Middle Ages. After the expulsion of the Jews from the city, the tombstones were used as building material and are still found today during the renovation of old houses. But in today's Nádražní Street we can also find other Jewish stories.

Now listen to an excerpt from Beno Benari's testimony. You already know him from one of our previous stops.
