Jewish Resistance in Amsterdam

3/4 Henriëtte Pimentel and Walter Süskind

In 1942 and 1943 around 600 Jewish children were smuggled out of the nursery, thanks to the brave collaboration between Henriëtte Pimentel, Walter Süskind and others. Pimentel and Süskind stayed active in their roles until the very last minute, and refused to go into hiding. Both of them were eventually deported to Westerbork and later to Auschwitz. Both of them were murdered.
