This is where the nursery used to be, just opposite the Hollandsche Schouwburg. Originally, it wasn’t a Jewish institution. However, as this area used to be primarily inhabited by Jews, the headmistress, Henriëtte Pimentel, and most of the nurses were Jewish. As of early 1942, the nursery was forced to take in Jews only, and in October 1942 it was attached to the deportation center of the Hollandsche Schouwburg.
