In 1945, the Jewish community in Olomouc was restored as about 200 survivors returned. The leadership was taken over by the pre-war chairman Ludvík Meissner, the cantor and the clergyman was Berthold Wolf. When he died in 1962, the Jewish community was subordinated to Brno as part of the reorganization of the state administration.
At that time, the state had long controlled all religious organizations, and it is not surprising that younger Jews, especially after 1968, decided to emigrate from a country ruled by a totalitarian regime and the Soviet occupation army.
