Edith Tupy was born as Edit Győri in 1925 in Győr, in a family of 4 children. The family was assimilated, not particularly religious. She and her family were deported to Auschwitz. Only she and her sister survived the selection out of a family of six. She and her sister Lenke ended up in Sweden after the war. Her interview was recorded in Stockholm in 1997.
