Walk over to the former convent building, look for the beautifully restored, sturdy yellow building on the west side, and you’ will find a plaque on the wall. Those forced into the ghetto had to gather in this square at dawn on 6 June, 1944. They were only allowed to carry as much personal belongings as they could carry. From there they had to march on foot through the city centre to Gyárváros, the so-called barrack camp.
