The symbolic presence of the worldwide community at the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, through the evergreen spruce trees, is a testament that the Armenian Genocide was indeed a global disaster and must be remembered by the world.
To this day, former and current statesmen as well as heads of new delegations visit the Remembrance Grove to water the trees that have been planted in the name of their state. This ritual reaffirms their country’s lasting respect for the memory of the 1.5 million Armenian victims of genocide.
