About the Interviewee

Arshavir Sarkisian was born in the city of Mingechaur, Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic). Arshavir shares that between November 27-28, 1988, Soviet soldiers transported him, his wife and son, along with the remaining Armenians (720 people) from Mingechaur to Armenia. Mingechaur is 76.2 km (47.35 miles) away from Kirovabad. Arshavir was interviewed by the Armenian Film Foundation on March 18, 1989, in Vanadzor (formerly Kirovakan), Armenia.
