The German occupation

Paul Tenenbaum recalls the day when German troops arrived in Luxembourg City.

Paul Tenenbaum was born in a conservative family in Luxembourg in July 1928. His father was a tailor in Luxembourg City and he had immigrated from Poland in 1922. Once the Nazis occupied Luxembourg, his family decided to flee to Belgium where they lived under false identity. After the war, Paul went to New York to finish his studies and found a job. He was enlisted to the US Army and after his service he got married to his wife Marilyn and had two children Michael and Sheryl. The interview was conducted in Lehigh Acres, Florida, USA in 1997.
