Luxembourg City IWalk

On 5 September 1940, the Nuremberg Laws were applied in Luxembourg. Every Jew had to make a declaration of wealth. Business owners had to be ready to sell or dissolve their business anytime. Besides, all Jews were forced to surrender their shares to a bank and their bank accounts were sealed. Jews were not allowed to do real estate business and inherit property or finance in terms of family.

Jews had to hand over radios, jewelry, bicycles, typewriters, cameras, gramophones, iron and even warm clothes (in winter 1942). The confiscated means were used by various NSDAP organizations and Germanisation policy in Luxembourg. In November 1941, all Jewish organizations were dissolved and the Nazi administration got over 35,000 Reichsmarks (the currency of Germany from 1924 until 20 June 1948).
