The second synagogue: Jewish religious observance and education before the war

In 1894, a new synagogue was opened at the corner of Rue Notre-Dame and Rue Aldringen. It was designed and supervised by architects Ludwig Levy and Charles Arendt. Today, the Psychosocial and Scholastic Assistance Centre stands on the former site of the synagogue, which is commemorated with a memorial plaque on the wall of the centre.
