Klatovská 12
In response to growing persecution, the majority of Jewish population of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia sought expatriation. Emigration of all persons labeled as Jews was the main goal of the Nazis at the beginning of the occupation. But almost no country in the world was willing to accept Jewish refugees.
Gradually, the Nazi authorities created more and more official obstacles for the emigrants. The last chance to escape were the so-called international cities such as Shanghai in China or Tangier in North Africa, which did not require a visa. But even such a journey was neither easy nor cheap. Each of the refugees had to leave the last remnants of their property in the Protectorate.
At this address we will get acquainted with the story of the Raab family, grandfather and grandmother of Dominic Raab, the former British Foreign Secretary. Their last address in Pilsen was Klatovska 12.
