History in Photographs, Part I

History in Photographs, Part I

In 2014, Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky traveled thousands of kilometres through Europe, taking more than 150 photographs at Holocaust sites in Austria, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. Six images were selected and embedded into the concrete walls of the Monument. These images convey the legacy of the Holocaust and its lasting impact on the contemporary European landscape.

At this stop you will explore 4 of these images and will watch testimony from Holocaust survivors who recall their personal experiences related to these locations.
