National Holocaust Monument: Landscape of Loss, Memory and Survival

Special Thanks

The establishment of the Monument would not have been possible without the contributions of members of the Jewish community in Canada and the Government of Canada.

The National Capital Commission (NCC) worked diligently to deliver this international-quality Monument by providing the land, as well as the land use and design approvals, and overseeing the design and construction. The Monument design was chosen by a jury of experts following an international design competition in 2013, led by Canadian Heritage, the overall manager for this national monument project.

The winning design team was comprised of Lord Cultural Resources, Studio Daniel Libeskind, Edward Burtynsky, Claude Cormier + Associés and Dr. Doris Bergen.

See the plaque inside the Monument for the names of those who contributed financially to its creation.
