In the 1920s, when the old synagogue on today's Odboje Street was no longer sufficient, the Shomre Shabos Association built a new synagogue. The building was designed by one of the best local architects, Eduard David. The construction was carried out by the firm of Josef Nosek and Adolf Richter from Český Těšín. In 1935 a ritual bath, mikveh, was established in the raised basement.
Because the synagogue stood between houses, the Nazis did not burn it down after the occupation of the town, but they destroyed all the interior furnishings.
