An attempt to arrest Ljerka Cairn

Although Ljerka was converted and had her husband's surname, she did not feel completely safe. She constantly dreaded that the NDH police would come and arrest her. She had a backpack prepared for departure, and she planned, together with Branko Bauer, her escape in case of need.

Indeed, one day when she was home alone, the police came to take her.

Listen to her explanation of the events, and how she perceived them.

In your opinion, how did Ljerka feel at the moment the police came to take her, and how did she feel when Čedomir Bauer returned home and helped her?

How Ljerka's experience of the Bauer Family's support to her in a difficult situation highlights the importance of unity and solidarity in difficult times?
