Holocaust in Zagreb

Croatian IHRA Presidency

During this IWalk, you will learn about the events in Zagreb during the Second World War (1941–1945) and about selected locations that are connected with the Holocaust – the suffering of the Jewish community in Zagreb. During the walk, through descriptions of locations and testimonies of survivors, you will also get to know the pre-war life of the once numerous, and today very small, Jewish community. You will also learn about their fate during the existence of the Independent State of Croatia and the culture of remembering those events today.
