The destiny of Lea Deutsch was forgotten and unknown for a very long time. As late as 2008, her first biography in the Croatian language was published. Until the present, several of her biographies have been published, and other sources important for the research about her life and destiny are also available.
Stumbling Stones (germ. Stolperstein) is a project developed in 1991 by a German artist Gunter Demnig. The first stones were set in Köln, in the memory of the Holocaust victims. Afterwards, the stumbling stones were set in 25 European countries, and the number keeps growing. The idea was to symbolically return the victims home by setting the stumbling stones, and the persons who pass by the place where they lived, need to stop and remember the Holocaust victims reflected in the destinies of the individuals.
The setting of the stumbling stone in 2020 was another big step in the remembrance of Lea Deutsch in Zagreb, and in keeping her in the memory of the city of her birth which she enriched by her performances. This was also the first stumbling stone set in Zagreb.
