Inside the niche on the left, you see the statue of Lenin, made by sculptor Pál Pátzay in 1965. The piece was originally standing on Felvonulási Square (today Ötvenhatosok Square) in Budapest, which hosted all the centrally organized important political and military events. Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, alias Lenin, realized scientific socialism in a revolutionary way in the Russian Empire. His objective was to establish the dictatorship of the proletariat. In other words, he wanted to create a labourer-peasant dictatorship, the realization of which did not reject terror. After his death (1924) he became the symbol of the communist and socialist ideology.
