Where is my home?

Liberation

After the liberation, Marie Schmolková's cook, Růžena Zychová, was reported by one of the neighbors as an enemy element hiding a German woman. This was the same neighbor who, during the occupation, reported that Růžena "looked the Jews in the eye" and showed them compassion.

This "hiding German" was in fact a certain Mrs. Herz or Herzog, originally from Vienna. Růžena went with her to the police, probably pointing to her tattooed number and informing the Czech police that they should think about themselves. She also helped other returnees from the concentration camps, cooked for an Israeli diplomat, until the communist Secret Police became interested in her. At that point, she gave up her role as a janitor. But she never left Kamzikova Street.

On the top photo you can see the caretaker of the house in Kamzíkova Street, Mrs. Růžena Zychová, on the left of her, in a flowered dress, is Mrs. Herzová or Herzogová. Together with them are Růžena's daughters Blanka and Drahomíra.

The lower photo shows the liberation celebration in the house. Find the exact location from which the ladies are leaning out!
