Priest Jan Skarbek Square

Priest Jan Skarbek Square

This plaza is named after a Roman-Catholic priest Jan Skarbek (1885-1961). Before the war, in the vicinity of the plaza, there were Jewish places of prayer, of which one synagogue has survived to this day, and stores belonging to Jews.

During the Holocaust, this was the second assembly point for Jewish residents of Oświęcim before their forced displacement in March and April 1941.
