Oswiecim

The town known as Auschwitz

Auschwitz Jewish Center

Oświęcim is mostly associated with the German Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz, but the town itself was home for a Jewish community for 400 years until the Holocaust. In 1939 more than half of the town’s residents were Jews. As a result of the Holocaust today there are no Jews here. This walking tour will allow you to see Oświęcim with the eyes of its prewar Jewish residents.

The development of this IWalk was supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
