Irma Haas, née Simon, daughter of Isaak and Johanna Simon was born on 9.10.1907 in Londorf. She became an educator and worked near Potsdam in a Jewish children’s home in 1935. In 1939 she emigrated to the Netherlands and got married. After Germany invaded Holland, Irma was deported first to KZ Westerbork and later to the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. Irma, her sister Hilde and their two brothers survived and emigrated to the United States. In late 2004, Irma and her sister emigrated to Israel, where Hilde died in 2005, and Irma in 2009. Irma’s interview was conducted in New Jersey on Aug. 4, 1997 by USC Shoah Foundation.
