Searching the Void


Even though we know the names and addresses of Jewish families, it is not a given that stories about the coexistence of Jewish and non-Jewish families have been recorded. Sometimes, it can only be reconstructed through the records from the archives where someone lived, how they survived, or where they could flee to. And sometimes, there are only gaps, like with the synagogue and the ritual bath, the Mikveh. What does it mean when buildings, people, and their history disappear? How important is remembrance?
