The new orthodox synagogue was built between 1926 and 1927, there is a Jewish school on the yard of the synagogue as well. In the spring of 1944 approximately 2000 Jews were crowded here before they were taken to the brick factory. On the inner wall of the synagogue you can read messages written by the Jewish people who were gathered here in 1944. On the outer wall of the building there is a Slovak language memorial plaque commemorating the deportation of 12,000 Jewish citizens of Košice.
The synagogue can be visited during opening hours.
