After the takeover, the life of the inhabitants of Kosice, and especially of the local Jews have changed radically. The numerus clausus law came into effect, which limited the participation of Jewish students in higher education. Moreover, the first Anti-Jewish Law in 1938 constrained the ratio of Jews in intellectual and economic positions.
