The National Socialists attacked this synagogue as part of the November pogrom in 1938. In the wave of violence and destruction organized by the National Socialists on November 9, 1938, thousands were injured, Jews were murdered, and prominent places of Jewish life were destroyed or burnt down in the Third Reich. The central structure of the Leopoldstädter temple was destroyed.
