Stolperstein, stumbling stone


German artist Gunter Demnig in 2014 placed two stumbling stones in memory of Miksa Pollák and his son Károly Pap, in front of their former home. Miksa Pollák was deported to Auschwitz in 1944. He was killed in the gas chamber later that year. His son was sent to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in the same year, in 1944. He never returned home.
