Otti Berger was taught by Gunta Stölzl, László Moholy-Nagy, and the painter Paul Klee. In 1931, she briefly became the new head of weaving at the Bauhaus, alternating with Anni Albers, another weaver of Jewish origin. Otti left the Bauhaus school in 1932, shortly before it was forced to relocate to Berlin due to increasing pressure from the Nazis, who ultimately shut it down in 1933.
