Survivor Biographies
Markéta Herzová was born in 1915 in Prague. She was deported to Terezin with the same transport as Marta Peková, on December 14, 1941. She survived the war in Terezin. Interview was recorded in May 1997 in Pilsen.
Jan Jecha was born in 1924 in Vienna, but he grew up in Prague and the Libava valley. He was deported from Radiotrh to Terezín on September 12, 1942. From the Terezin ghetto, he was sent to a private concentration camp owned by Reinhard Heydrich’s widow in Panenské Břežany. He was returned to Terezín, but was later deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, and the concentration camps Zossen-Wulkow bei Trebnitz, Gleiwitz and Blechhammer. Interview was recorded in March of 1996 in Rotava near Sokolov.
