From your position, as you overlook the SS garage courtyard, you can likely see the “Stabsgebäude,” the commandant’s offices. This house was built in 1942/43, replacing the formerly wooden structure with stone. It housed the camp commander’s office and his official residence, and it also operated as the headquarters of the high command.
