Jewish Memorial/Old Synagogue


Look at the corner of Rue de Saint Vincent and Rue de L’eau. There, you can see a stone platform where the Old Synagogue used to stand.

After the Franco-German War in 1870, a massive wave of Jews settled down in France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Together with the municipality and state, community members organized a collection, and the synagogue was opened on July 21, 1899.
