As a child, it is a very common practice to gather objects that you cherish. Adults don’t always see the importance of these objects that can sometimes be overused or broken. However, these objects take a holy place in a child's life; they provide comfort, and they inspire imagination, games, and storytelling. Hidden children often got separated from their treasured belongings, and after the war, when they were asked to rebuild their lives—whether it was in the same house as before the war or in a different location—the loss of their belongings remained vivid in their memories.
