Extinction and new beginning


The „Schlosskirche“ gives its name to the square on which it stands. It was built in the 18th century for Protestant Huguenots who had been expelled from France because of their faith. In 2015, the building was repurposed – it became the new synagogue of the Jewish community of Cottbus.
