We’ll now walk over to the square behind the Museum. The further away from ulica Nalewki, the poorer were the buildings on pre-War ulica Gęsia, today renamed as ulica Mordechaja Anielewicza. There was a cemetery at the end of Gęsia. Today, it is one of the largest Jewish cemeteries in Europe. So that funeral processions would regularly proceed along the length of ulica Gęsia. A little further, behind the cemetery, was a market frequented by the poorer residents of the northern district.
