The Six Pillars: Part One

At this stop you will explore the six pillars before you. The content on these pillars asks you to consider the differences between American democracy and the totalitarian government of Nazi Germany (1933-1945).

Begin by reading the inscription on the pedestal and the text etched on the pillars entitled Human Equality and The Master Race; American Democracy and Totalitarianism; Natural Rights and Nuremberg Laws.

As you explore, consider the following:

  • How does a government uphold human rights and show respect for individual’s humanity?
  • What happens when a government or ruling body denies our most basic human rights?
